It has whale watching cruises, ferry to Nantucket Island, mall, shopping village. Hyannis Port located on the south side is an affluent quiet village which in 1928 Joseph Kennedy bought a six acre waterfront piece of property now called the Kennedy compound. John F Kennedy used the compound during his presidential campaign. The Kennedy compound is in the National Register of Historic Places.
